Former UFPel president Antonio Cesar Gonçalves Borges is launching, next June, 6 the first volume of the book “Universidade Transformada“. In this work, Borges presents testimonies and reflections on events and achievements happening at UFPel especially between 1993-1997 and 2005-2012, when he ran the institution.

This year, MALG (Leopoldo Gotuzzo Art Museum) completes 30 years of activities. Last April 25th Capes approved the Ph.D. Program in Water Resources of UFPel with an initial accreditation grade 4. There will be an annual selection for six students, but the date for the first admission process hasn’t been defined yet. Giovana Ferreira Gonçalves, a professor from the Graduate Program in Languages and Literature, in partnership with Professor Maria João Freitas from the University of Lisbon, has contributed to the chapter “Acquisition of Phonology” for the book “The Handbook of Portuguese Linguistics”, published by Wiley-Blackwell press. The 600-page-book, written by renowned linguists from Brazil and Portugal, discusses phonological, morphological, syntactic, semantic, and lexical aspects from the Brazilian and European Portuguese language.
