UFPel’s teaching hospital (HE) took a further step in its institutional qualification process. The new multidisciplinary academic facilities of the hospital were inaugurated last March 28th to benefit Nutrition, Physical Education, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, and Psychology students. Four fully equipped new rooms will be used by about 50 undergraduate, graduate and resident students, consolidating the integration between areas, strengthening multiprofessional and interdisciplinary work and providing more welfare to students. Bruna Pacheco, a student from the Graduate Program in Biotechnology at UFPel, spent over a month in Antarctica representing UFPel in the project “Biodiversity, monitoring, survival strategies and prospecting of extremophile algae”, which is managed by the Chemistry Institute from USP and has the participation of several Brazilian universities, including UFPel.
Last March 18 UFPel received indigenous and Quilombola students who entered the University through the second special selection process for these groups. The ten students and the other eight who had joined the university in 2015 were welcomed along with their families and representatives of their people. Kaingang groups living in Pelotas and representatives of Quilombola communities living in Canguçu and Piratini also attended the event.
